there's something to be said for taking junk and making something you like, but I like sticking with what I already like for the whole process...

I find it hard to sample Led Zepplin and some others. Only because even if you adapt, there original joint just can't be touched. We take samples and rearrange them, they WROTE the pieces that got them loot. We only programmed them, but some rock joints are just to good to touch.

hell yeah. i love rock but sampling some classic rock joints are just outta the question, mostly cuz it never sounds better than the original

there are a few others but i've heard these sampled so many times the exact same way.

that bob james natilus sample has been raped to no end, and so has that isley brothers sample between the sheets

Nautilus is still dope and can ber flipped to no end...its one of the easiest records to flip, great record for when ur 1st learning how to make beats...great practice when u cant find something tight, original, or fresh to sample, or just aint been diggin in a minute....Pete Rock has flipped it a few times and has used little elements here&there many times too, and its always FRESH And about no one buying a beat that samples Nautilus. WRONG....rong Consequence " DJob Song" prod by Kool-Ade 2007. Decent joint too....Muy Favorite Flip of Nautilus is Preemos- Jeru "My Mind Spray". Nothings safe, any record is fair game... yeah I love hearing how producers flip the same track. Check 9th flipping nautilus on Murs album....so different to 'beats to the rhyme' run dmc. I love that shit. I flipped it myself too, and I like my version! I listen to it a lot.

Synthetic Substitution is a painfully beatiful song in every way....but I still like that ultra flipped it, and everyone cops the break at the start etc....That's what hip hop is all about....don't try to draw the line anywhere!
