My advice (and I've had to do this a couple of times)...
Put all the WAVs into one folder (or separate folders if you can be bothered).
Creat a new folder for your converted WAVs.
Download a utility called Switch: http://www.nch.com.au/switch/plus.html
Open it up, point it to your folder, and change the 'convert' properties to PCM 16 bit.
Boom, badda bing... all sorted.
I've found that sometimes the 2500 isn't keen on mono files converted in this way. If you don't mind the space, make sure they get converted into stereo. I think I'm right in saying that this won't actualy affect sound in anyway at all. Someone will point it out if I'm wrong!
If you use an audio editor, you may well find that you can 'batch convert' files...just make sure you don't do so destructively!
I think you can probably also do this in Audacity, a free audio editor...google and ye shall find.

you could also just create a folder in iTunes. drag and drop the battery 3 files into the folder. convert the sounds into audio format.. throw the new audio files into a folder on your PC's desktop. hook your mpc up to your PC. drag and drop the "audio files" folder off your computer onto your mpc's CF card.
