Direct record Question

I tried this for the 1st time yesterday......My question is

Is there a way to still hear your other tracks when u use direct record or do you have to just operate off the metronome?

Every time i did it yesterday when it recorded the beat dropped out and all i had to work wit was the metronome which kinda sucked cuz my drums were unquantized and in order to get the bass to really fit right i needed more than just the metronome i needed to hear my drums....thanks

what are you recording to. a Daw or the mpc. IF is a daw i suspect that you have some kind of sofware sequenser. if so you can use the sequencer to quantise the drums and the base line.

even if your drums are off you can quantise them on the daw too.

I dont want them quantized.....thats not my question. Anyone else?

last time i used direct record which was probably like 4.21 or something I could play my sequence and then press record and it would save on the track and also as a sample. I dont get why you cant just press play and hear your beat and play to it and have it save normally like that. The question is kind of confusing to me because it sounds like a bug of sound dropping out but I think its the way your saying it, or maybe there is something new in a recent version i dont know about. Can you hear the beat on the record screen when your recording a track?

sounds like something is wrong i hear all tracks..

is SOLO on the direct record track

Positive it wasnt on solo, but ill try again......another factor,I am on 4.4x whatever 1 that introduced the new chop where u use the arrows. Idont know if there was a bug there but ill try again........BUT it is confirmed tho, i should hear the other tracks right?

IIRC, Rec+Play on direct record won't play your sequence as you're recording, but OverDub+Play will. Try that.
