FUNK! MY FLOPPY DRIVE!!

I broke my MPC 2000 Classic drive Cuz i was mad. I inserted to fast and bent the shit out of my disk and left my drive damamged.

So now my floppy drive doesnt load the OS anymore.

Maybe once out of the 100 times i tried to insert it.

Anyone know the model or type of floppy used in the MPC 2000 Classic?

I need one badly and i wanna run to fry's electronics and pick one up super cheap before going to my house.

i understand you can use any normal computer floppy drive. I could be wrong but I think I remember reading that somewhere

imma have to go home and uninstall my broken one then...

well I know some people load their OS straight from a zip drive. I have not figured that one out but im sure its possible if you wanna go that route.

i know...I broke my zip drive last time cuz it failed on me. So now i dont have a zip or floppy. haha

You should be able to get a regular old PC floppy drive to work. That's what I had to do when I got my 2K.

As far as how to boot from a zip disk, you do the same thing you would with a floppy - put the OS files on the zip disk, insert the zip disk, turn on your MPC.

And uh, my man, I see an anger management class in your future! lol

thanks. i tried that before but it never worked for me. but i can sit here and say everybody who claimed it worked is a liar!! so it must have been something I was doing wrong. anyway, not a big deal but if the floppy thing fails for you then you have another method

i ran to the computer store after i took out the floppy drive and low and behold they had the same brand and model and said they hadnt sold one of these in a year.

Just my luck.
