what are your wishings 4 the next OS update?

Yeah and I think I'm not going to buy the mpc 2500... I will save my money and get the Roland MV-8000 soon or later.....

Oh my g.. Im getting the roland MV-8000 instead!
I know that the 500 will newer bee as good as the bigger models, but i can't even use the sequencer live.
When i record a pattern and, then jumps to another sequence, the pattern copy itself onto the same track number in the other sequence!
AKAI erally needs to fix this if they would have the mpc-500 to be a serious machine!!!

Right, now it's time for a bit of following up on one of my previous posts, where I wrote at some length about other manufacturers making niche hardware. One of them, in this case Elektron, has unknowingly proved my point.

About a week ago, I found a rather serious bug in the latest Monomachine OS (midi dumps sometimes didn't read back properly). I emailed elektron, and explained the problem, together with a description of how to reproduce. About a day later, I got an email confirming the bug. Just now, I got a mail from them, saying they believe to have solved the bug, and asking me to test to see that it works for me as well. Attached in the mail is an updated OS. And yes, the bug is gone.

That, my friends, is customer care. Akai, please take note.

Ohhh, i think you misunderstood! This was THE update. (kidding)

I think that Akai dont want to upgrade the machine, but rather wants to fix the bugs.
If ya want somthin' better, you would have to sell an organ and buy a bigger MPC model .

Problem is, there is none. The selling point for the 500 (for me at least) is the battery power. If there had been a 1000 with battery power option, I would have bought that instead, no questions about it...
