Hisss sound coming from new akai when record digital

should I hook up the outputs to my akai through Di box's or is there a special setting that should be on when recording onto the computer I have an akai mpc 2500

Your soundcard have coax digital I/O's? If so, then go to the control panel, select sounds & audio devices then the audio tab. From there you should be able to see your soundcards' inputs. Just select the digital input and you're set. This should work providing you're running XP.

so you can't use the regular aduio outs when you are going direct into an a to d interface

you need to use the digital outs into the ditigal ins?

is there a sample rate setting for the akai?
