My coworker showed me that Garage Band comes with hundreds of clean sounding loops that can easily be chopped. Everything from Guitars, to drums to bass to weird sounds its quite awsome...

.aiff files do a find

I'm a newb so this is new to me.. Dunno anything about the quality of the .aiff files but for me a newb it has given me a lot of samples free and easily.

I'm sure apple bought them from a reputable source.
As they do sound very good.

For someone like me that doesnt want to go dig thru records for hits.. loops and samples to learn/play with.. this is very convenient..

Wtf semi samplin? Taking a loop or a break and chopping it up.. you all do it.. it doesn't really matter how and were you get the sample..

This is just easier for a newb.

Nobody needs negativity like that.. Especially newbs..

Anyways OSX guys with new MPCs and no samples check it out..

You might as well just use GarageBand then.

Sure? if you don't want to use an MPC you can use a number of software packages..

Garage Band won't really offer you the features and flexability you need tho...

This is the crate diggers section, people get confused..

This section aint about sounds packs on music packages and on net, its about records... or compilations made from records (like dusty fingers type sh!t).

People often post in here about "sounds" contained on the wrong media, especially sounds involvin programs and sh!t.. this is where we come to share info on records.. info on diggin.. diggin spots... etc.

And thats the inspiration, feels so much better to sample off record.. to find real dope breaks u havent heard used yet.. knowin that its limited and peeps not just downloadin it, havin it in ur hand to hold and smell, it being an object that u personally own, and the luck of the draw along with knowlege givin the feelings u get when u find those gems. The real pride that comes with having certain records in a collection u'll find u'll never get with mp3's and sh!t.

And yeah i understand ur learnin klaze, but not only have u gotta learn to chop / sequence.. u also gotta learn to dig, which is where ur sound will come from, from what u know to dig and what styles become ur preference etc.. knowin what kinda things to expect on a record and knowin what ways to use them.. it all comes hand in hand, but when u start diggin like alot of peeps u'll probably have a good few misses before u really start knowin what to look for.. u gotta learn to dig as well.

*co-signs complex and megaton*

There's a sense of pride, completion and happiness you get when you find or add that sick piece of vinyl to your collection...makes ya tingle...

Can you say garbageband has ever gave you that feeling...??

The feel, the smell, the hunt, the dig, the play, the sample, the recreation...

It's HIP HOP! Your SUPPOSED to FEEL IT!!

I guess some people may never know, it's what you live not what you learn....

ok man, garage band is what got me into producing, before that i knew NOTHING about how people made those beats. and i made a couple songs on garage band on my cousins computer and i was like THIS IS MEGA.

then i bought acid and put that on my comp and recorded an album with just loops ect... but i was thinking, man it cant be this easy. i didnt know anything about midi controllers, drum machines ect.

so i did some reasearch, talked to some people, i had the honor of talking to sabzi from common market and he told me what he did, he used acid also, but all his "loops" were chopped from VIYNL he dug! no ones ever heard that stuff in other songs! and it was sick.

but think about it like this, EVERYONE that has a powerbook, i book, macbook pro, has ALL of those loops and their using the same ish that your using to create your song. and that is no good. you wanT ORIGINALITY!!!

you gotta make your own identity, you gotta find your own sounds, sounds that cats all across the country havent heard.

i mean i heard a garage band loop that i used in one of my songs that i first made on a commercial for some music board game WTF is that?

you cant expect to just keep copping loop packs and such and think that no one has heard that before.

GO FIND YOUR OWN SAMPLES

GO DOWNLOAD FM7 XPRESS AND GET A MIDI CONTROLLER i got a k25 for 100 dollars, FM7 XPRESS IS FREE i belive. go look for it online, its a native instuments softsynth keyboard. and a midi controller is a keyboard that contolls that virtual synth so you dont have to click all kindsa mouse buttons to use that! i think GARAGE BAND even has a stock SOFTSYNTH in it. go find it!

if you dont have a turntable, do what i do. i get my samples from CD's! im planning on getting a turntable when i get enough funds, but this does fine for rite now! PUT A CD IN YOUR COMPUTER AND CHOP THAT SH!T UP AND DUMP THAT ON YOUR MPC.

if you really want stuff to be that easy, this music stuff is gona take you nowhere, you gotta inovate man.

if your budget doesnt fit your needs then INNOVATE!

look up the history too!
