this is NOT an mpc sampling question, more of an mpc 1000 playback question.

I have an S900 that i want to use in conjuction with my mpc 1000. While i have an 80gig harddisk in my one kay, i prefer the sound of my S900 which only has floppydisk as the storage device. a little pain in the ass, huh?

with akaidisk i can get the samples from my s900 to my pc, i still have to find an s900-format-to-wav-converter though.
I guess that if i convert the s900 format to a wav it will have the same bit and samplerate as the original file, and here comes my question.

does the mpc 1000 read wav-files up to 16 bit and 44,100khz or does it only read 16 bit and 44,100khz?

please help, i can't test this out for a couple of weeks because of work!

Does ith have the IB-101 A/S HD interface installed?
You could hook up a small magneto optical drive or a (rather hard to find)
SCSI memory card reader.

With the 750k of sample RAM the 900 is giving you, it's probably best to sample it's analog outputs with your 1k.
It will not render 100% the same sound, but if you sample with hot
levels and normalize afterwards, it'll do the trick convincingly enough.
Enough to justify having all of your sounds in just 1 piece of kit...
