Couple questions about sampling from records..

1) How do you move sounds samples, drums, or anything to the pads you wish?

2)how do you work the tap tempo for finding a samples original tempo?

3)how do you save whole projects(w/ drums, chopped samples, and etc)?


sorry for such nub questions

First ?. = Mode> Program.

Second ?.= Load sample to pad. Play it, then tap the "TAP TEMPO" button to the snare of the sample.

Third ?. = Mode>Save> Move the wheel to where it says "SAVE ALL" then press do it.

If you only tap with the snare in a standard 4/4 hip hop or rock beat your tempo will be half the actual tempo. To get the real tempo you need to tap on all 4 beats in a bar, not just the 2nd and 4th.

good lookin out. I am not new to this so I never use tap tempo.

With the JJ OS, I just select the "TEMPO" option in the chop shop and it analyzes the sample and automatically tells me the tempo of the sample.

OH and i also have this other problem lets say if i lay my hi hat in 1/16's it will playback as the hi hats in 1/8's...same with laying out a sample and etc...anyone know why?

Whats your tempo??

32? 55?

Just double it and it should be fine.

eklipz. sounds like you have time correction 'TC' set on 1/8ths, so that all of your 16th notes are being automatically moved to the 8th notes by the mpc's TC function. Change it to 1/16.
