MPC 2500 pads cancelling out sounds???

Just got an MPC 2500. Maybe in too much of a hurry to use it.
Every time I hit pads with a sound thats in the same place as another sound it cancels out the other sound.
What do I have to change in parameters to fix this? Can't seem to find it...

Mode --> Program --> Params --> change *mono* to *poly*
