Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Anybody know what causes this? My synth locks up the mpc almost 50% of the time and when the planet phatts hooked up it has mad latency issues and then locks up..and the mpc is still on play..this doesn't happen when I'm using straight samples tho...anybody know the drilly?

I'm not quite geeting this message and question from you.
However, I understand some of it.
This issue happens when you send midi sync information from both units at once.I mean, when you have something like 2 masters sending midi clock to each other for example. In result - both instances are locked and you can't do anything until you press stop on one of them.Check, maybe that's the problem.

Basically the keyboard is being used as a controller/sound module. The planet phatt is the second sound module. The mpc is the only sequencer cause my synth and planet don't have any. So I record the events with no trouble. Its when I press play that it locks up and I can't press stop or access any other mode w/o having to turn off.

I have the mpc 1k also but 3.06 midi tracks change even with change off and mpc 2k seems more midi suited anyways

my juno 106 used to do this all the time to my mpc, try enabling the midi filter on the MPC to block any junk data your synth is sending that u dont want to sequence. sysex is a killer.

nanoloop thanks i never knew that but midi filter is on by default...but i did figure it out and it was half of what harlej was trying to tell me. i did have the midi out from the planet phatt sending its info to the mpc in while the mpc out was doing the same...basically i unplugged the planet phatts midi out and im good now. took me awhile to understand that...i know how to chain midi its just that i dont fully understand the settings..but i got it now...
