so i used the mpc to sequence a synth via midi. i than wanted to play that sequence with a sample based sequence from the mpc. the problem is when i have midi on and program on when i hit a pad it plays the synth and the sample at the same time. i want to be able to play them so they are separate but at the same time. not sure if that makes sense but any help be would appreciated

Not sure, but if you change track and leave it at Drum (not midi) would that work..?

i think you have to turn the program off for the midi track, by highlighting program one(example), then turning the wheel left

I tried it out and it's, change track, make type:drum, change program to the program for your sample/pads and be sure MIDI is off...Press play and you can have you MIDI sequence playing as you play samples from the MPC pads..

Works for me on my MPC2500.
