MPC2000 Akai S950 combo

How do you link the S950 to the mpc2000?

How do I associate the drum pads on the mpc2000 to the samples on the s950?

Any insight truely appreciated

Also...has anybody ever taken the s950 apart? The manual explains nothing on this so any documentation/ advice would be terrific. I have one with memory expansion...however it doesnt work so I have the feeling this has become loose.

MIDI basic mpc midi out > s950 midi in
s950 out > mpc midi in
then you turn your track to midi : 1A-device01( the A means this is the midi port A that is plugged , device 01 means the midi channel is 01 ) .
You change to midi below the Tr:01-track-01 in the main screen .Then every pad has a midi number thats has to be set in the s950 .

This is not needed as you will only send MIDI-data from the MPC to the s950. You should read the s950's manual and the MPC2000's manual, it's all in there.

The engineer who placed the memory expansion in my s950 kept the buttom-side open (to prevent overheating while using the system extensively), so I can't help you on that one.
