Hi there,... need help fast :?

I'm playing a gig (DJing) this saturday... and am taking the MPC along to trigger samples live into the set. Not ground breaking but should be fun... spices up the whole affair.

Anyway. the problem I've got is prob real simple... Is there any way of pre deciding whether a sample I have loaded in plays all the way through from just one pad hit.... or whether you need to hold the pad down for it to play (thus when you depress it stops).

I really want to be able to create a stabby effect with some of them but they ALWAYS just seem to play from start to finish. My mate a 2000xl and I remember him setting it up to do this but I can't fathom it

anyone know what the hell i'm blathering about and what I can do to change it?!!

appreciated!
:D

in the program field, highlight the sample, then press the WINDOW button. from there, use the data wheel to select either 'one shot' or 'note on'. One shot means that u only hit the pad once and the sample plays all the way thru. Note on means u need to hold the pad down.

not the greatest novel in the world but the manual is a pretty good read! :)

hahaaa, thanks for the info.. and the sarcasm. both appreciated :D

basically, i've given the manual the once through when i first bought it. But have you ever tried actually using the INDEX to find anything?? man, its fuked up.

plus... as i've just prooved... its far easier to ask some fellow peers for the relevant info.

thanks again!
