When I sync protools to my MPC I've noticed it's been adding a weird swing to my beats. I have a couple tracks with quantization but no swing on my mpc but when I record it in protools i has a swing feel to it. I checked the midi on protools and the quantization is off, any idea what it could be?

I'm having a similar problem. anytime i use a swing of over 50% in my mpc's sequence and try to trigger it with protools, protools quantizes my track to some other crazy $hit...i end up having to manually track anything that i make with a swing without the precision of the midi sync.....any help????

Sync your MPC to Pro Tools using MTC(Midi Time Code). I was having the same issue this weekend and took a few hours to trouble shoot

will try to post some audio examples of the difference between the sync using MTC and the sync using Beat Clock. Beat clock adds a very strange swing.

Setup Pro Tools as the Master for MTC. Make sure that the session in Pro Tools is set to use MTC. you will notice that MTC is a lot tighter sounding.

Make sure you have atleast V1.2x on your MPC

i know you said thar quantize in pro tools was off, but there are a few different set ups of quantize in pro tools. check to see if the midi quantize while playing and insertion is off...

It doesn´t matter if you use AKAI or JJ OS. Use MTC to sync and you won´t have that problem anymore...
