How long have you had your mpc... - And how long did it take you to get one?

I have had my mpc2kxl for five years now,and I had to wait for 3 months until I got it,damn that was a hard time!!!

had mine for years..before they made a 2000xl .djnext had bought it brand new effects board & outs then ran into a money problem,i already had a emu esi32 and roland mc-50 sequencer and sold them real quick for $1000 bucks what a steal ..i think he still rezents selling it to me that cheap

I've had my MPC 2000XL for 2 years. I've wanted the MPC 3000LE since the first time I laid eyes on it. When it came time to buy the MPC I wanted to cop the 3000LE but they no longer had them new (dont like buying used gear) ; so I decided to get the MPC 2000XL Studio Plus. When I finally got it, I had no time for it due to having to work mad hours to come up with the loot on a monthly basis. But now I am giving it all the attention it needs.

shhh, don't tell anyone.... i dont even own an mpc. Mohohohohhahaha.

I just printed a photo of one of the net, and pasted it onto a cardboard box. I put little pieces of foam under the pads so it feels real too!!
Alls i gotta do is make the drum noises with my mouth as i press the pads and hey presto! In a few months i reckon i'll be able to get the bass, drums and melody all at once.
those suckers at akai aint gettin my money!

Hey fellas, I'm new to this MPC world, but I wanted to ryme on my own beats (waaaay cheaper). I have had my mpc for 4 months now I was starting to save for one when I walked into a pawn shop and saw one laying there. I wasn't even sure if it was the "right one". I called a friend of mine when i told him it was an MPC200xl for $500.He said but it before I could finish. I talked the guy down to $400 even and walked out the proud owner of a new MPC 2000XL.

I still haven't figured out how to sync this thing with my protool 001 but hey I'm an Mc trying to be a producer. LOL

I'm not sure, It is maxed out with memory but does not have the expansion board. Where does that lie in the family line?

well that could be the basic one....with maxed out mem......yeah thaz what it is.....the basic one with maxed out mem...but for $400...you are good......

I have mine since 3 months.
I ordered one by my local equipment dealer but after 2 weeks they called me and told me that they´re not going to get a mpc2000xl from akai in the next 2 1/2 MONTHS!
thank god I found a guy who was selling his MPC2000XL + EB16 + 8out expansion + 32MB built in and 2 16MB original memories extra and internal 100MB ZIP drive and... and a custom made CASE!!!!
all for 1650€
and the things are absolute new!!!
he had it one year and played it on one single gig.

I picked mine up in from a sceond hand shop chain store (Cash Generator) in the UK. They're kind of a scruffy corporate framchise chain of shops that prey on the poor, persuading them into selling their goods to them then seeling them on at twice the price. I got some poor dudes (or lucky berglars) MPC for £170. Couple of minor scratches n stuff but a bargain if y ask me. I might sell it on for wice the price though.

I've had it for about one year. Man, I really had to work to get the thing. I've wanted one for years so I did whatever means neccessary to get the money together (used some of my college loan, recycled beer cans, sold the good stuff, etc). The machine has been worth every penny.

I first considered buying a MPC2000 in the late 90's but someone convinced me not to (dumb ass.)
I've had my MPC2000XL for less than a year now. But learning the MPC has been super fast for me because I've owned other drum machines and samplers before that (Alesis HR16, Yamaha RX7, Boss DR-660, Linndrum, Sequential Drumtraks, Oberheim DMX, Oberheim DX, Akai S2000, Akai S3000XL, E-mu SP1200.)

I started out as a drummer and still play drums, but I f**king love drum machines. It's that precise/mathematic feel that a human just can't reproduce. Some people hate machines because it sounds like a robot, but I love that sound. Probably because I grew up on Planet Rock and all that early electro-hop like Egyptian Lover, Cybotron, Pretty Tony, Etc.

Ive had mine for about a month now, It took me some months getiin the money for it, but when i bought it second hand along with a synth, the synth got damaged being transported to my town and it was insured. So in the end, after getting money for the synth, I only paid 60 bucks for the mpc

Bought my MPC2KXL 2,5 years ago brand spankin new with 32mb and 8 out by Mutec ( I am not happy about that!, memory is corrupt and 2 expansive ), together with an ARP Pro solist, Kawai F100, Korg DW6000, TR606 with OG etui, JV880, U110 with all PMCIA and a Moog Prodigy.

Thnx 2 grandma who saved money since my birth, only to spend on stuff worthwhile ( like car/drivers license ).I have no car, drivers license, but I own my own house and tons of gear and 2 MPC2KXL in the middle.

had minez for less than a month now, i have wanted one for like 2 yrs, but actually took me a month and a half to save for one...... i guess i got treated for the wait, kuz i was lookin at the regular base one, and i found a 2000xl SE that had been returned in mint condition for the same price.....so i lucked up!! im just startin to learn this thing, and still finishing the rest of the stuff i need to get started, but i can tell already this thing is gonna be my best friend, girl friend....etc. hahah
