HOW DO I MAKE MIDI CONNECTIONS WITH AN AKAI MPC2500, a MIDI INTERFACE, AND MIDI CONTROLLER? WITH THE MPC AS MASTER?
I want to use the Akai MPC2500 as MIDI master. I'll use my sequencing software Mackie's Tracktion2 (as slave) for recording vocal tracks, scratching, etc. -My MIDI Interface (Edirol UA-25) has one MIDI In and one MIDI Out. My MIDI Controller (M-Audio's Oxygen 49) has one MIDI Out. And my Akai MPC2500 has two MIDI Ins (1&2); and four MIDI Outs (A,B,C,&D). How do I make my MIDI connections? Please help!!

wow man...well i can tell you that you can search for this and find plenty of answers to this question....

i can tell you like I tell others how to connect midi, but its gettin a lil boring answering this question.

read up about midi man...goto google and search for midi. that setup isnt hard to get going. i would also suggest coppin atleast a 2x2 midi interface. 1 in and out maybe enough but i would rather have at least 2 ins and outs....

I used a MOTU Midi fastlane usb interface. its 2 ins and 2 outs and works perfect.

and btw, a master will be sending MIDI info out to the other devices. there's a clue....

EVERYTHING I'VE FOUND HAS THE SEQUENCING SOFTWARE AS MASTER. I'M GREAT WITH MAKING GOOD MUSIC, BUT NOT SO GREAT WITH THE TECHNICAL STUFF. LEARNING AS I GO, YA KNOW? HELP A BROTHA OUT.

if you're using your mpc to contol something else, you'll need to use the MPC MIDI Outs into what ever you want to control in this case, your software. so mpc midi out to your interface midi in. setup your midi options in both the mpc and software and if setup right you should be up and running

check yr tracktion manual, some software programs don't really work as
slave... don't think cubase really digs it, for instance.

read your manuals dude, they'll have set-up info in them.
