Getting A Sample To Cut Off When Changing Sequence

I have a 4 bar loop that has a vocal sample at the end. When I loop the 4 bar loop, the vocal sample carries into the beginning of the loop and sounds good. If I change from sequence 1 to sequence 2, the vocal sample carries into sequence 2 and sounds bad. Is there anyway to get all samples from sequence 1 to stop playing when they get to sequence 2?

Adjust the decay on each sample to cut off at the end of the first sequence.

lampdog, that won't work, will it? he wants the samples to carry over to the beginning when it loops back to sequence 1, but not to sequence 2.

what i would do is set some pads up to mute the sounds from sequence 1 and trigger them at the beginning of sequence 2. problem solved.

Maybe I read it wrong.

make a copy of seq1, ------ seq1-1

use the original seq1 loop to seq1

use the edited seq1-1 for the transition to seq2.

no mute groups on the 2kxl so that's my way of doing it

I've never used mute groups before but after reading the manual I think I understand how they work, I just can't set it up to work for me.
The way I have it now is that I have my lead sample assigned to pad A01 in my "Lead Program." Then I have my vocal sample assigned to pad A01 in my "Vocal Program." I would like for the vocal sample to be cut off when my lead sample comes in. I set the Mute groups for both pads to 01 but my vocal sample still isn't getting cut off. Do the samples have to be in the same program for this to work?

I would assume that they do, but I don't know for sure. You can, however, set the same mute group to an empty pad on the same program (as your vocal) and trigger the pad to mute on the very last tick of your sequence. Be sure to turn off the quantize.

This sounds like your best bet.
