internal zip drive question

so quick question. i copped an internal 250mb zip drive off ebay for 7.50 usd, and ordered the power plug and ide cable from vstservice.com for 40 bux. now here's the thing. the zip drive doesn't have the little screw holes ont he top of it, that the og floppy had, so how willt he bottom of the mpc hold the zip drive without it floppin around and what not. i copped this so i can transfer from my external tot he computer and just put the disc int he mpc when done creating programs and whatnot. i am saving for the mcd in like amonth after i pay some bills. i am gonna pay the 135 + shipping from mpcstuff.com. so can someone answer me? how will the case actually hold this drive in place? peace

I'm looking at my eternal zip drive right now. (I recently installed a card reader) And I don't see any screw holes on the top, I do however see holes on the bottom of the drive. 4 holes to be exact.
I honestly think you bought the wrong drive because with no screw holes your zip isn't going to stay in place.
Sorry for the bad news. Maybe you can get a refund and buy the right one.

thats what i meant man. i was thinking of looking at hte thing in reverse. you know upside down. but yeah no scree holes on it all. god damn it. i am gonna install it in my computer then **** it. i have no use for my pc floppy drive. aight peace

Hey, why dont u make some holes in it urself?. get a good drill bit. find an applicable size, and experiment. the worst thing that can happen is you add holes, which dont help, and u simply install it in ur pc anyway. I mean, first make sure it even works in ur MP, if it does, then improvise. that is wat makes us professionals, no? .

im sure youll make a killing slanging ide zip drives...theyre pretty hard to find. you should cop some jaz drives while yr at it and make the big money.

i didnt think the 2000 classic, could use IDE or internal SCSI 3.5" drives with out the internal scsi connection and some detailed soldering?
