only the mpc2500 has the hdm-10 adaptor included (without the hard drive).

btw, i also bought the seagate momentus 80gb drive last year. still works flawlessly. their drives really stand the test of time. plus the momentus has a 5 year warranty.

the very same indeed!

i got a replacement for my drive and it still didn't work. can anyone describe how formatting the drive should go ideally? once i select the hard drive in the format menu, it says "wait" for a very long time, then the hard drive is selected. it just locks up from there, it seems. should i be waiting like 10 minutes for the shit to work? or can i assume the samsung mp0804h's dont work

No, it should be over in a matter of minutes... (with JJ OS and a 80gig drive).

I'd suspect a faulty adapter or connector if that happens with more than one hard drive.

Noob question:
Does the mpc read directly from the hard drive, or do you still need memory cards(busted card reader) to transfer the data to?

I've looked through most of these pages and maybe I missed it, but does anyone know of or use a firewire enclosure.

Will the HITACHI Travelstar 5K120 also work?

Edit: yes it does.

what amount of samples do these hard drives average?I have been turned off using my 1000 because i only have the memory stick it came with and so im constantly deleting all my samples and starting over with dragging them from my pc to mpc. This is very time consuming and os i have concluded a hard drive will not give me this problem.

i have about 20 gigs of samples on my 100 gig drive, i have maybe 150,000-250,000 samples maybe more on it.

Might have missed it in the 24 pages of posts on here, but did anyone have any luck with a Fujitsu MHS2040AT?

And is the HDM-10 kit in the 2500 the same one the 1 we use for the 1k? I bet it is, I don't want to assume though cause if it is I'm gonna send the one I ordered back and use that one from the 2500 @ our studio. Thanx
