2KXL and laptop set up

Whattup y'all?

I'm movin further south in VA for school in a couple months so I need to make some changes as far as the beats go. I got my MPC hooked up to my desktop computer here at home through a EMU1820M right now. When I go to school I'm a be taking this laptop that I got.

I wanna run Pro Tools through the joint based off the strength of me being able to just burn the session and go to a bigger studio. So I was wondering if y'all could suggest some laptop interfaces that could get the job done. I'm a be recording one track at a time so aint really no need for a whole rack of inputs. Just somethin that'll get the job done and let me track my beats into Pro Tools. But yea, any suggestions y'all?

well you could get any m-audio interface then spend 249 for pro tools or just cop a used mbox 2 off ebay and you have the whole interface plus midi, plus mic pre amps for scratch vocals ya dig. aigh tman keep us informed. peace

its the smallest and less costly of their gear. You said ur only intersted in tracking one trak at a time, so this does just that. only draw back is that its USB. If u can get around that, then this is the box for you.

mbox2pro, is steaper in price, but delivers.

And yea, I'm a just do one track at a time cuz thats how I been doing it, but I also need Midi so I can sync the joints and all that good shit.

then get the mbox 2. **** gettign the pro. the regualr mbox 2 has midi and two tracks at once. or one stereo track aight peace

I have heard nothing but praises about the presonus firebox. U might wanna check that out.
