Anyone regret getting the 1000 over other MPC's

If anyone is reading this and comes to the conclusion that the 1000 sucks, please don't! It's a very good machine, and it suits a lot of peoples needs. It's very good at what it is designed to do, but it's limited for my needs. It's a personal thang! Ya dig!

so buying a 2000$ gear will help you with your internet addiction how?? If your not willing to cut off your internet service then I guess youre just reasoning yourself. Trust me you will be back on the internet soon enoug!!!!

I don't have my shit on E-bay....yet! Since the 1000 goes for an average of $1300 plus tax in Canada that price on E-bay ain't bad with EXM 128 included, and since the 1000 has only been out for 4 months it still has at least 8 more months of warranty.

I mastered a Big Wheel too when I was a child! I sure as hell wouldn't want to stick to that!

I don't need to explain again that the MPC 1000 is limited in many ways, and it doesn't suit my needs.

As far as curing my internet addiction...no I don't think it will do that. I think it will help me be more productive. The internet isn't good to have in any studio because of the distractions it would cause to anyone. I just don't have a lot of space and this is my only PC. And with the 1000 if you hope to really work with samples you NEED a PC.

I do apologize if you cannot seem to fathom my reasons for switching, and obviously just don't have enough understanding....that's cool!

No, I wouldn't trade for a 2xl....I don't want a 2xl or to work with zips whatsoever!

I paid $1250 plus tax for my 1000 and close to $200 for EXM 128.(That's just how expensive shit is here!) Why wouldn't I spend 2G's and get something that is 10x more advanced. And MPC's have a very good re-sale rate and re-sale value. It isn't much of a risk!

And by the way your coming off as such a hater...I guess there'll always be those around to hold you back...and make you stronger!

Not sure what you mean by "no program change for MIDI devices".
I have my Kawai K5000S hanging off MIDI A, I embed the bank and program changes in the sequences, it all gets sent straight away.

But I agree with the general point that the MPC1000's sample handling capabilities fall short of what a PC can do, which makes real-time work harder. I'm still "unformed", so I'll work with the limitations and see where they take me.

Right, but my old 2k had the ability to select what program was being used, per track, from the main screen. It translated into a program change as the track was playing, but you weren't required to go into the step edit and insert program and bank changes manually. (I may be wrong on the bank bit, I forget) It was a great timesaver.
