Signs your pads are goin dead....

So... I was checking the pad sensitivity today, and I noticed that when I hit some pads, I get a 127, and with damn near the same force, I'm only getting a 50 or 60. Are my pads dying, or am I missing something? Just got this thing for Christmas, and already had to take it back once. Any help would be appreciated.

you gotta learn that the pads aren't that reliable, and even when brand new it is very difficult to predict how a pad will respond to any given force applied to it. A sure sign that a pad is going dead is when it does not respond at all when pressing it softly in full velocity mode
