Linking up with keyboards

im trying to use my motifes7 with my 1000. ive hook it up through midi and all its doing control the mpc instead of recording its sounds. what do i do?

connect it thru midi...... connect the keyboards audio to the mpc.... turn input thru on in the mpc and assign the midi channel on the track...

ok. ive done that. ive got the sounds coming through, now it wont record them

Ok, as Lamp says, MIDI doesn't record audio.

It would help us if you describe exactly what you are trying to achieve. Do you want to create sequences in the Motif or MPC ? Or both ? Do you want both sequencers palying together ?

Do you want the MPC to record audio from the Motif as a sample you can playback or do you want to record phrases and loop them for playback ?

It really helps people to get a handle on what your problem is if you describe it fully first

because its hooked up thru midi so its only recording midi....

goto to the sample section in the mpc and sample the inputs (keyboard)

then assign the sample to the pad and hit the pad and record the audio...

i want to loop it. i just got git working and it just stopped. i wanted to loop it.
