I have a very specific question about whether something is possible. I have a Korg Triton extreme, and I have been using it as my main sequencing model lately and using the MPC as a midi slave but I like the MPC better for sequencing honestly. I want to find out if it is possible to slave the Korg Triton extreme, and assign different sounds from the triton to different tracks. Can I have a bass guitar sound playing on one track and a violin on another with the MPC as the midi master? If so, how do I do this?

Yup, set each voice a different MIDI channel on the Triton, i.e. Bass on 1, Strings on 2 and then record the Triton on the corresponding MIDI channels on the MPC. The Triton is multi-timbral which makes this possible.

I don't know my way around a Triton, but it's a pretty easy thing to do on any keyboard.

And then just set the MPC as Master in Sync Mode and the Triton as Slave.

tritron in program mode. give that program a midi channel #.

make a midi track in mpc, use that same midi channel #, record on mpc.

do it again, same mpc seq, different mpc midi track and different triton program with different midi #.

thanks lamp.

I went ahead and spent the last 3-4 hours illuminating myself on the manual, pretty much got it down. I highly recommend this machine to anybody who is thinking of getting a keyboard/synth/workstation. It's a chunk of change but extremely well worth it (no pun intended)

I use the triton in seq mode and set the global settings for external control, then on the mpc u can make midi channels 1A-16A (if
the triton is connected to midi out A) to control each of the tracks
