question regarding soundforge

recycle can fake a tail for you but it doesn't sound better or worse than sound forge...id say sound forge sounds pretty damn good and is the king out of wavelab and cool edit....

yeah i checked out recycle yesterday, pretty cool program, but for precise cutting and ease of use i like soundforge. i just need to mess with the envelopes more.
i use the fade function but it generally leaves an annoying click where i used the fade, so i am kinda staying away form that for a while.

i cut a song up with recycle and just cut it into literally 200 samples, and just went through and loaded up the ones i thought sounded kinda cool, and did a beat with those. turned out rather odd. very different. but i think i like soundforge a little bit better, different programs though.

recycle is a specific program for chopping loops up(especially drums i guess), while not losing the vibe of the drums by making it sound all choppy. Sound forge is for straight up editing sounds, whether fading out a song, or eqing it, etc. Neither "sound" better, they just perform a different task. Peace.

persu is right...with recycle you can do more to your slices and you can export the midi groove file....sf is really for other kinds of edits...wouldn't use it for cutting up breaks...

and sound doesn't really come into it...
