Hi people ...
I bought a brand new mpc 1000 almost a week ago and so far It has been a bitter/sweet experience ...

Within the first few days it started to behave quite erratically (when in "seq edit mode") ...
Without doing anything heavy it crashed on me on few occasions, loosing all the sequencing data that i had up to that point ...
Then it kept "refusing" to transpose when in seq edit mode (track:midi) and instead for it was swapping pad sounds ...
When I tried to swap back the sounds sometimes entire sequences were being erased ...

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated ....?
What about the jj os ?

return it. if you have a faulty machine and you just bought it, i would definatly return it. even if it is simply the os. thats just me.

jj os is great compared to the akai os in my opinion. there is a feature list around. do a search for it.

if u just bought it i would take it back to exchange for another one no need to fret over it, sometimes u get a bad one. i had to send mine back when i first got mine it locked up and all the light came on, couldnt do anything. :(

get the JJ OS.

you will love it.

i held out for months thinking it couldnt make THAT much of a difference. i wasted a lot of time through losing data just like you have instead of just spending the money. it's night and day better than the akai os. even if just for how it manages (securely) files.

Thanx 4 the replies...I actually returned it today - It was bought from turnkey(London). I have 2 say that even though their customer service usually sucks, they were actually pretty cool about it (they even arranged a pick up from my place). I am gonna hane to contact them in a few days to see what the story is. Hopefully i' ll get a new one ...I also contacted Akai(which is run by Numark in the UK) and they also suggested to return it.
