i wish that while having my samples pitched up on the q-link that i could still have them pitched while using the 16 level velocity function. Is there an easy way around this?

you mean like say you put a sound on the qlink to tune it, and then you'd want to 16 level that sound from the qlink position? if this is what you mean, it can't happen. both qlink and 16 levels are in reference to the current program parameter as set in GPE or OPM.

qlink and 16 levels effect each pad using the same parameter - the QLINK parameter.

i respect a lot of your posts and all that (and thanks for pointing me to reaper for tracking!) but i see this common theme of "Thats not possible" in your posts. And I guess as an entrepreneur who thinks a bit differently anyway, i find that really defeatist. the old ceo of digital said there was no need for more than 5-6 computers in this country. well, id say he kind of missed the boat.

anyway, why couldnt it? same parameter... as a former coder it doesnt seem that impossible. so you have a dynamic parameter range. all it does is get recorded as tune value in step edit. so if 16 levels says that pad is -80 but the qlink brings the value up 27 then for the split second when that hit is captured, then the value would be -53.

now maybe you're right but being so quick to dismiss things because JJ at some point has said this or that doesn't make it word. our country was built on doing a lot of shit that wasnt supposed to be possible.

the four minute mile couldnt happen because "the body doesnt have enough oxygen to support that"... well roger bannister proved all the scientists wrong. the year after he broke the four minute, 17 others did it..........

good points. i said "not possible" based on the current way things are, because it's...well, not possible.

i also say "not possible" to feature requests mo and mo now because of the whole os filled thing. til (if) we get to take out old functions "impossible" will fade. also, (not in this case) i say "not possible" to stuff i've heard isn't possible from jj himself, as well as stuff that's just kind of off the wall (wmv file association?)

but who knows? having 16 levels qlink affect the pad "AFTER" current qlink value may be possible, and frankly it'd certainly boost the usefulness of 16 levels, which i really really rarely use (poor man's qlink as i've said).
