3000 pad function

My first experience with an MPC was with the 4000 (I use the 3000). I remember a particular pad function on the 4000 and I'm wondering if the 3000 has it or is capable of it.

FUNCTION: After assigning the sample to a pad, you press and hold the pad assigned. The sample will play through to the end unless you release it. If you release the pad while the sample is playing the sample will stop playing at whatever point in the sample you decided to release the pad.

Anyone know about the 3000 being able to do this?

• The Poly field:
This is a choice field with three options:

1.POLY: Multiple plays of the sound are assigned to additional
voices, allowing polyphonic overlap. This is useful
for sounds like ride cymbals, for which you don’t want
new notes to cut off old ones.

2. MONO: Multiple plays of the sound use the same voice,
terminating and restarting playback of the sound (no
polyphonic overlap). This is useful for producing stuttering
effects.

3. NOTE OFF: When the pad is released (or a MIDI Note
Off message is received), the sound is terminated. This is
useful for controlling long samples.

Option 3 is what will be of interest to you.
