Is there a chance that once a delay effect will be provided with a new OS,
or will that not be possible by software changes?

It's certainly possible that delay could be added at some point in the development of the OS and I'd imagine that, in addition to Timestretch / Ptitchshift, it's the new feature that most users would like to see.

I wouldn't want to wait for that, there are some pretty cheap external delay boxes

e.g. I have a my old Korg DL8000R set up on outs 3/4. It syncs to MIDI clock if I want repeats to match the tempo, and I can change parameters dynamically with CC messages. In one section of the track I'm working on now, I use CC to control the delay input level on 1 beat per bar = dubby to the max...
