Questions About The Unofficial JJ OS

Hello everybody.I'm new to this forum and this is my first post.I have read alot about the new JJ OS and i'm wondering if it's really good like i heard. 1.Is it safe to put on my mpc?I don't want it to crash or not work properly. 2.I see that there is a download site posted by mpc tutor.Which one of the downloads is the JJ OS and how would i get that to my mpc?Also,does it cost money? 3.So how is it?This question is for everybody who had the original OS but now use the new one?What are some new features?Thanks for reading, i'm hoping to get some useful answers.

I wouldnt install it, heard of mpcs blowing up afterwards, no really.

the JJ OS is far and away the only choice if you are using this thing professionally. the WRONG FILE and NEW FOLDER bugs are long gone; grid editing, advanced sample editing, click settings (incl LEVEL 0-200 as of 4.69...YAY) and a whole host of new features have been added; and, most importantly, the JJ OS is rock solid and waaaaay more dependable than the Akai OS.

it's worth it for the WRONG FILE/NEW FOLDER bug fixes alone. if you own an MPC and haven't had your day ruined by this nasty file corruption bug, you will, trust me. i lost a ton of data and several hours' work just before my band went on tour. i loaded JJ and the mpc performed like a champ foir every show, rehearsal and impromptu jam. plus i no longer had to waste time backing up all my programs twice out of fear that i'd see that stupid error 5 minutes before a performance.

anyway this forum hipped me to the JJ OS as well as a ton of other useful info, so i just wanted to report back that i beat the crap out of my JJ-equipped 1k for two weeks in dingy, smoky clubs across three countries and it was rock solid. if anyone is still worried about going "unofficial," believe me, you only stand to gain. the Akai OS is a piece of crap. the machine and the feature set are great but if you're using any piece of gear professionally, reliability trumps everything.
