NO wave forms when trimming sample

When sampling from turntable or from the CD. I can record the sample just fine at a high volume. But when in the trim editor window , I can edit the sample etc but I do not see the wave form lines. Any clues?

Make sure your levels are right and you are not distorting the inputs. If you recorded alright then go to sample page make sure you are on the trim/lp page, then highlight the view parameter and press window. You now can choose View Rectified, Fill, and Scale views. Full waveform choose BiPolar and fill on.

Also leave scale at linear. Read up on the 4k reference manual and I suggest you get the Z4 and Z8 manual too to understand the sampler better.

have you zoomed in really close to the waveform? You need to press Shift and one of the cursor buttons to zoom out...

no. It has wave form editing.

Just chop and trim by ear, plenty of us do it...

I use akai s2000 sampler, you have to go by ear, ur not really gonna know much via a number display lol

U do get used to how many numbers foward u can expect a certain distance in sound.. although that can change depending how long the thing u sampled is tho..

But i tend to sample each bit a time, then trim / copy paste / make alternates of those individual chops that were individually sampled
