Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I know this is a proper newbie question, but can someone please, please let me know if you can definitely connect a hard drive to an MPC500 and if yes does it have to be an external or internal hard drive.

I want to be able to save all my samples and sessions on either a hard drive (either internal or external) so that I have everything I need with me when I travel with the MPC.

No you can't save to a harddrive on the MPC500. You can use up to 2GB compactflash cards to save your data, which is pretty much since you can fit a maximum of 128MB samples in the internal memory at any time (if you upgrade you MPC to 128MB RAM).

The MPC1000 however supports a internal 2,5" harddrive.

I think it would be easier to save stuff to CF cards if you are travelling.

But if you really, really need a harddrive maybe some kind of CF-to-USB adapter will let you connect an external harddrive. I wouldn't think so though.

And no, it does not have an internal harddrive.

You wouldn't have to ask this if you browsed through the manual.
