Can't change programs on main screen

My MPC is behaving kind of strange, when I load a program and I'm on the main screen, and try to change from Program 01 to TR808, it will not let me change it. The only way to change it is to press Open Window and change it in the program screen.
I reformatted my memory card adn installed the most recent OS, however the problem is still there.
Has this happened to anyone else?

2 possibilities, one is hardware the other is software.

1 - hardware: enter the pad sensitivity screen and look to see if any of your pads are being triggered constantly at very low levels.

2- software: i've had this one happen before too. bypass the bug by entering program mode or gpe and changing the program there and report the bug.

you could try a reset of the mpc. hold erase + power on

I have recently run across this myself on the 2500.

I also can no longer use 16 levels...

a) SW, b) HW, c) user error???

anybody with help?

My problem was what Nym mentioned, the pads were being triggered at a low level, prohibiting me from changing the program.
Everything works fine now...
