this is ill, want to have it especially for the compression , disc copy and copy zone to snd options, crazy!

I ordered mine from Rowan last Sunday night and he shipped it out by Tuesday morning....Super fast service...

As soon as it arrives I'll give it a review, but from the looks of it I'm sure it will be amazing..

Installed on running....Haven't posted since I got it, 'cause I've been busy MAKING MUSIC, which is something that this update makes the workflow on the 3000 so easy to do....

I don't have a 3000 but I was checkin this out. Out of curiousity... what is "Star-Title" and what is "Hard-Burn"?

Here is a more detailed description of HARD-BURN:

The MPC3000 parameter options you have chosen stay in memory due to the backup battery on your MPC3000 main board. ( battery backed NV-RAM )

Your options could be lost if:

1: there was an accidental system parameter load of a PAR file created on
another machine into your machine without you realising ( as part of an
autoload from some one elses disk )

2: the NV-RAM battery on the mainboard went dead ... ( note that these
batteries are certified for about 3 years but in reality last a lot longer
than that )

3: you accidently INIT-ALL PARAMETERS at which point the existing ( Hard
burnt ) factory defaults are reverted to.

The "HARD-BURN" option is simply there for those people who want their
machine to revert to "their chosen state" at any time regardless of the 3
points mentioned above.

The STAR-TITLE option.

Custom text display display performed during manufacture to the MAIN SCREEN title text.

Same answer here as the response to your PM:

Given that there is a new function:

"Stay in MIXER on PLAY/PLAY START" allows all mixer screens to remain open when PLAY/PLAY START is pressed.

Some of us have never had problems with the mixer automation recording.

So ... Subjective answer ? Maybe ? Yes ?
...or not, depending on how you use the machine.

Just wanted to post a quick "two thumbs up" for Mansell Labs new OS. I installed it this morning, powered up the MPC and started KICKING straight away. I can't recommend it highly enough. Rohan is totally in tune with the way people use their MPCs, and the changes he's made are PERFECT for speeding up your workflow and bringing the machine that little bit closer to absolute perfection.

I was just wondering about the Copy a SCSI disk function. I have an internally mounted zip drive and an additional external zip drive. Is there anything else I have to do besides connect my drive to the back of the 3K then power it on with another hybrid partitioned disk in it?

The SCSI copier is a "sector duplicator".

The SCSI copier does not care about the file system type as it is duplicating the drive contents on a sector by sector basis.

If the source disk happens to contain a file system then that will be duplicated sector for sector onto the target disk.

EG:

Source disk:
Drive 1, SCSI ID 5, ZIP100 - Containing an MPC3000 formatted disk.

Target disk:
Drive 2, SCSI ID 6, ZIP100 - Containing a blank disk. ( or not blank, doesn't matter as it will be over-written with the source disk contents )

Activate the SCSI copier.

Select the source and target with care as you are about to overwrite the target disk contents with an exact mirror of your source drive.
