Who here uses song mode

I use it most times.... Sometimes I get the urge to just mute & solo things on the fly. Especially, if I'm not tracking the beat into my DAW. I'll just do things on the fly straight into my DAW or something like that just for a change. Or to put extra little changes in the song. And just count the bars in my head as the MPC is playing so I don't mess up the arrangement.

i just found the answer
so i would just copy the sequence and mute or unmute in the up coming sequence just like doing it on the fly, but now it makes it able to put it song mode
does any one know of other methods

i use it. but it depends for me. if i want a nice structured beat, then i use. but if i want a spontaneous and random beat, ill just record it and do realtime muting and solo's and whatnot.

im a step edit wizkid. lol... even WITH JJ OS and grid edit.

i can do a full tracked out beat with the fantom and mp, filling out 60 bars of not-lame progression in 10-15 minutes. no samples, except drums on the mp.

im trying to think how i could utilize song mode in my work flow to do this faster. maybe 1-4 bar sequences that are specifically drum fills and transitions? hmm... ive never seen workflow with song mode actually. most guys i know just jam on one seq and fly through it.

anyone care to share their workflow process? im curious.

make several 4-8bar seq's.

chain them together in song mode, basic.

Cosign. How are you people not using song mode? This is what makes the MPC's workflow work.
