Good Question.

I happen to acquire another shop to set up another studio, this building happens to be a musical icon in Philly so I couldnt pass up the opportunity. Which leads me to taking all my equipment Im using at home like my PT002, mpc2500, etc. there to set up shop.

Now what do that leave me at home to be creative with?
I had to purchase something that I could use at home I have a nice size apartment but wanted to conserve space this time around. I've been looking into the 8800 since it came out because the features really caught my attention. So when it came time to purchase another piece thats what I got.

Look I love my MPC and want to see them come up but also I keep my options open. This machine frees up a lot of creative time and effort to bang out a tune. The features cant even be matched by the 2500 at this time. I want it to and it dont even have to give me VGA and mouse click editing. When and if the 3500 come out I'll get that too and hopefully eat all the words I just uttered.

Yes I grew up using MPC's, 1200's, 808's, 909's, R8's whatever get the job done. I dont limit myself but I am a big fan of the MPC and always will be.
With that said.....

That is why I purchased the 8800, so I can have something home with me to continue creating and the extra features will come in handy.

Quick update:

Work is progressing, but no release date can be given yet as release needs to coincide with third party matters out of my control.

I know how frustrating this is for you guys, but it's more frustrating for me.

When you sign a bunch of NDAs (non disclosure agreements) then your mouth is sealed and hands are bound.
To break this agreement is both unethical and commercial suicide.

The DVD has been slow for this very simple reason.
When trying to create a DVD that entails an os, then you need to make sure it is up to date.

This has ended up costing a lot more than planned for, simply because of these third party delays.

My apologies to all, but pls try and be patient and understanding.

All I ask is that you post up a new thread when the DVD is ready. :D

Amen.

This whole ridiculous delay has been due to one company' usual empty promises and stalling tactics.

And if you knew the rest, you would be amazed.

I couldn't give a rat's testicle about Akai and their rubbish any more. I am going to complete this DVD, os updates or not, promises or not.

I am thinking you have prepared the training material for the new features. Will your DVD be suitable for users on Akai OS 1.23 ?
