Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500
By wavsub Fri May 11, 2007 10:49 am
Hi all,

I've just bought my 500 and I am in love with the machine. It was so easy to chop beats and add effects in Nuendo before exporting as wavs...straight in via USB, Lovely! I'm not toooo worried about the little screen, you just have to work differently from the outset. However it's best not to rely on it, and do all your hard work creating your samples first I think. That's not to say though, that I won't be recording samples with my MPC because I will - it's all part of the fun!
However on to the girly bit...has anyone found a suitable bag for it - I don't mean something beefy - just a neoprene sleeve so it doesn't get beaten in my bag on the way to work.

Any thoughts and links appreciated.....cheers!!

Make sure whatever bag you get, there's space for a decent set of headphones and maybe even a portable dynamic mic for sampling sounds with aswell. Plus of course somewhere for a couple of extra sets of batteries and an AC adapter.

I just use a padded Targus laptop back pack.

There's a CASE LOGIC neoprene case which I've just bought which is, quite literally, built for our MPC. It's the 10 inch portable DVD carrier

Absolutely perfect :D

I put mine in a samson mic-case, there was two mics in it, i pulled out the padding for the mics, the "roof" has fluffy interior, and i put some nice and soft material around it. Very nice!

Or i have it in my powerbook second skin.

I share your love for the mPC 500

What I do is either pre-chop on my mpc1000, or when I sample from my pt-01, I make sure to sample exactly what in

I just got that neoprene case from case logic and the mpc 500 fits perfectly in it! My only complaint is that you don't have much room for headphones if you have large ones like i do. You definately have room for extra memory cards and all that type of ish. I'm about to have the other case on here from Europe. I'll let y'all know which ones tighter.

I use a Shoreline sleeve for my laptop, I need to check the dimensions of their other products to see if one will fit my MPC. Otherwise, that Case Logic joint is the move. The idea is to protect it when it goes into my dj bag or gig case with a bunch of other stuff.
