Do we need P. Mode ([other] F5)?
I don't use my pads for any of the options, save sometimes the tap tempo.

But even that is not cool to use, because you can't choose a bank, just "pad 1".
That was better in earlier versions, where you could e.g. use D01 for tap tempo and wouldn't disable pad 1 on all other banks, too.

that's a mode i dont use at all but it is good for beat juggling in live performance. especially when hooked up to a mpd or something so you can still play pads too. i dont find myself using it though.

Aight, didn't think of that.
Maybe it would be cooler to leave it in and just make it so you can select which bank you can use, so using the function doesn't block one pad on every bank?

h-mann - can you edit the original post of this to make it a poll too? got a bit of a running theme here and maybe numbers speak better than words

that would be cool if there was a useful function applied to it.

but why use a pad when there is a dedicated button already.

anyways id like to see it GONE!

i like this feature(useful when you want to use the mpc as a midi remote interface for a daw or dtd (via mmc etc..) but i don't use it neither...

It just works better, the pads have a far better feeling than the tap tempo button. It's much more precise. Anyway, I don't use it anymore.
Let's make it a poll.

BTW what are we trying to get more space for exactly? If program mode is going for some retarded cheap effects that most of us won't use or get bored of in two weeks than I'll be really pissed off to say the least, because it's a waste and it does nothing but cheapen the machine. There is a lot to say about it's current work flow and it's diversity.

There's different way to program beats: pads, step, grid, sequence edit, and different ways to edit programs: Program Mode, Global Program Edit. Taking out any one of these limits the diversity of the machine. I don't want just one way of doing things. Having the different options is something I really like about and one of the reasons why I bought the JJOS was for the further diversity he brought with things like grid edit.

THe 1k is not an fx box and it is not a 4k or an MV or a PC or a MAC or Protools or cubase or an sp1200. If you want these things I suggest buying them or commission JJ to make you the OS you want on the side for your own personal use.

why?
>>>midi cc in to qlink parameters (for fade in out/filter/pan tracks with true pots etc...)

>>>multiple editing in grid edit

>>>track mixer

>>>track mute in grid edit

JJ has told it was possible but because of the size limitation...

i just want JJ to continue the process he began (when he added the real time pitch shift(like the pong or the splash screen) it was a kind of joke inside the true developement.

jj has great idea he has proved it...but he needs room

And how much room does he need? I think it's best if things must be taken out he take out some of the more Sp404 like features and the the more novelty like features first before mucking around with re-inventing the wheel.

Plus almost all of the things you mentioned are better done in a DAW after you tracked out the beat. The 1k is not a PC or a Mac or protools or cubase and it never will be. Let the MPC be an MPC. It's better at that than being a wanna be DAW.

i hate to see a computer in a live gig that'a the reason why i bought an mpc i play improvisation with, i try to learn it like an instrument.my studies were jazz (originally i'm a double bass player in free/improvisation / bands)
my favorite add would be midi cc in to q link...
the mpc would become the live tool to me (multiple live fades etc...)

i ve used my computer during long years with max/msp+reaktor and others programming stuff...but i wanted to come back to live musique (in france we call it "musique vivante" i don't i know the translation)

but your true...
why didn't you buy an mpd24?

the mpc is a dedicated computer, kind of luxuary todayi assume it but it's expensive 900euros for a machine that don't have midi cc in to parameters if JJ can help me on that i will use it...
