I'm glad that after trading my mpc2000 for the 1000 and having it mess up
the first day, made me take it back and get the 2000xl.
After browsing and reading many post about the 1000 and the problems
that alot of yall are having has made me feel alot more comfortable about
not having the 1000. Even though it is smaller and more portable, where
I figured I could make beats on the job, alot of the problems that yall are
experiencing is enough to make a insane man sane or vice versa.
I'm not trying to knock the machine but damn? it messed up one of my
dreams of actually whistling while I work. I feel very good and a bit
disappointed that it's not being the work horse I imagined it to be.
I actually was willing to buy another one just to use as a scratch pad at
work and transfer the beats to the 2000xl or just sync it up to
protools. However I see they haven't improved the 1000 none and mind
you, I had bought mines in december of 2003 and it's still giving some
major problems that really need attention. I know that some of yall are
not having problems and you have been blessed with the uncursed
batch of 1000's, but some and it seems the majority are having some serious issues . I will leave this forum for another six months and check back to see if Akai fixed the 1000 because in the future, I would like to buy one and actually keep it!!!
peace.

I'm glad you figured it out - but to tellyou the truth I sold me 2000xl and bought a 1000 - never had not one problem -

Someone said on this - that only the people who are having problems post their problems - theres hundreds of other people out there who aren't - know what I mean

Any 1st run of anything is going to have problems no matter what it is. The good thing about Things like this you can get a OS fix from the internet instead of having to just suck it up like you would with a car or something like that.

I havent had a single problem with my 1000. I have probably made about 30 beats on it since I purchased it 2 weeks ago and spent many hours with it playing sounds and I was using OS 1.0..

No Problems here either.

i had some problems at first but it's 99% glitch free now. it's been like that for months. every once in a while something stupid will happen but it's always easily solved.

so yeah, problem free here too.

not that the 2kxl doesnt look cool too!

my mpc 1k is the shit!!!

not 1 problem

and ive done over 20 tracks so far .....

left the mpc1k on for periods of 6+ hours

i use it with a motif es .... and theres never been conflict or problems

it fit my needs much better than a 2kxl

cuz with the 2k .. i would need the 16 meg upgrade, a scsi zip or harddrive
i have about 11 mpc2kxl sample cds, but i got awave studio, converted the sounds i liked outta the partions into wav ... and load them into the mpc when needed ....

the 1k i use right out the box ......

i still only using the original 16meg and the 32 flash with my 1k ..

i do need to get a 512 flash so i can load a good amount of drum onto it

different strokes for different folk i guess

the only reasons a lot of people are having problems is because a lot of dumb$hits can afford the 1000.

True, but would you have it any other way? We were all dumb$hits at one point, and the MPC1000 is a good place for these dumb$hits to learn the basics.

The MPC1000 is my first MPC-type system, OK, but that's after years of working with MIDI, WAV files and PC software, all experience that comes in very useful with the MPC1000. I'm happy to hang out here and help if I can, I don't seem to have that MPC attitude yet...

Since os 1.03 I've seen those no problems posts on this forum. So why did Akai release v 1.04 when there were no problems.

By tiger vomitt Mon Apr 19, 2004 4:17 pm
nospoon, they released a list of bugs fixed along with the 1.04
