Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By mpc user Fri Apr 16, 2004 8:08 pm
Anyone here been working on a beat and have their MPC lock up?

I was playing back a sequence and trying different samples over it and then the screen froze, the sample hiccupped and then stayed on constant and loud.

The screen read something about an error 3000. I wrote it down but forgot it at home.

I'm using a MPC 2000 not XL

So I started where I left off and recreated what I had been working on and it did it again.

I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the MPC, anyone experience this or know anything about this error?

its a computer, its bound to crash every once in awhile

hopefully after you upgrade the OS you want expereince it again

(make sure your periodically backing up your beatz, just in case)

Thanks for the link, hope it will stop the crashes.

Funny thing, its never done that before, but I've been having all kinds of funny shit go down after a recent move.

I live at the top of a hill in Seattle and my gears been picking up radio transmissions and I can't tell what is causing that either.

nah thats normal. I get crazy religous staitions on my bass amp. Wierd ****. I think it might be the wires your using. You might want to cop some more expensive wires that are balanced and shielded.

my 2000 has frozen before. Man, you gotta save, save, and save again. CONSTANTLY! Trust me if your mpc freezes, i guarantee it wont happen when your making a wack beat. Its gonna happen just before you save the hottest beat ever! ha ha. i hate that ish

Dstruction is right, when you looping up some trash there's never a problem, when you're doing the butters joints is when you get victimized by circumstance... once I was up for two days, and I drank that night and started making a dope beat... I went to the bathroom and came back and shut the mpc off, before I did I saved my sequences and program but not the sounds.. the next day I wanted to load up and hear it and the sounds weren't on my disk and it was all my fault, I felt like an ass cause it was some hot ish... and I couldn't remember what exactly I sampled for it cause I was so tired and drunk...

my mpc crashed a few times but it was only when i was in song mode and stopped it while it was synced to the pc (cubase) and then hit play again on the mpc not computer. if you to play in sync with the computer again without changing screens you get fatal error.

works like a charm everytime,

Yeah, its funny how it crashed when I was puttin it down. I left the MPC on for the last couple days with some wack sounds and sequences on it and its been fine. Guess I will just save and save when I got somethin good going on.
