I know how to work my MPC. I've read my manual a couple of times. I've read most of the manual for new gear I'm about to get, and for gear I was looking into.....and you know what.....I DON'T UNDERSTAND MIDI.... I even took out a book on midi from the local public library and read it......I STILL DON'T GET MIDI...mind you I don't have shit to midi up, but I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND MIDI....and I feel I am a productive member of this forum who helps out when I can...and I can make beats too and use equipment so it's not like I'm retarded and I don't deserve respect and help when I ask for it. And midi IS confusing!

being humble is what it is about.......and always lend a hand to help.

I know sometimes myself i think i know all there is to know, and some one (lots of times less experienced or "not as good") will teach me something new. Realize that just because someone asks a question, doesnt mean they are retarded, and just because someone answers like an ass.....means they need some help too....or are so stuck in thier ways they dont realize that they are wrong.....regardless, patience is virtue.

Stay true and humble.

BTW. Somedays I am irrated for other reasons and im sure it reflects in my posts...so always give someone the benefit of the doubt that "they are not purposely tryin to hate" but maybe they just need to vent or needs someone else to cheer em up.

to be honest i have had mates ask me how to do stuff on their mpcs' i find out if they have read the manual first....if they haven't they are in my mind not serious beat makers and therefore don't deserve my time until they do....more than happy to share non-manual tips but not anything basic that anyone could find out for themselves...

other forums i belonged to started getting plagued by peeps who weren't even reading the forum FAQ and just posting the most basic questions....it pissed everyone off and the forum went down hill....its happeneing here but luckily there are still some peeps here still willing to help out the lazy...

trial and error is the best way to learn. it may take awhile but you will learn other things in the error portion of trial and error. it is ok to cheat sometimes by asking someone it you are stuck but trial and error is the answer. the key to learning is to understand concepts and not not individual functions. peace.
