I just changed the sensitivity to make it easier. Dont really care if they are broken in or not, just wanna make sure I hit the pads correctly. Only had my 500 since April. 8)

yup, & you have to turn it on to ''full level.'' but i have no problem with mines, they respond good... don't even need to smash em in... i just tap lightly on mines & they respond...

yup, & you have to turn it on to ''full level.'' i have no problem with mines, you don't even need to smash or break them in, they're fine just the way they are imo... i just tap lightly on the pads & they still respond well... & i only had my 500 since May... SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST!!!

It just takes some time to get use to the pads.. I think they're nice

adjusting the pad sensitivity is a good way to find what suits the user better. sencitive or non sencitive response.

The only complaint I have about the mpc 500 is not the screen but the pads, but they not horrible

I love my mpc1000 pads (weird I know), my mpc500 is managable

hopefully I get my ram expansion fast.........

Truthfully I either use full level and set sample vol manually or use 12 levels of velocity. Its the only way I can be precise with my velocity because, whilst I love my 500, the sensitivity ranges from silent to very loud depending on how hard you bash the **** out of the pad.
