I need some new gear!

this is it,
all I got is my mpc 2000 classic running into to my hifi I can record straight to minidisc. I want to progress my setup to a new level as I've finally got some money. Thing is I don't know what to get first.
Been looking at some:
monitors, mixer, micro korg or ms2000 and different interfaces.
I have a pc and want to take advantage of multitracking, I have cubase vst5 but haven't f'd with it yet.
Is it essential to get a mixer, or should I get just an interface or both, I have the 8 outs. If I get just an interface I might miss out on using outboard gear n stuff, I dunno if anyone can suggest n e thing or tell me there next purchase after they bought their mpc???
I want some new gear dudes.
maybe I should go one at a time.

If you have 8 outs from your PC I would suggest putting as much money as you could into an outboard mixer. IMO it is one of the most important parts in getting a good quality recording or beat or whatever you are making..there are all kinds of mixers out there and even if you are not wanting to spend 1000's$$ on a mixer there are fairly good cheap alternatives. You need a mixer to be able to really utilize your 8 outs and multitracking....depending on your I/O situation you may consider a digital mixer as well. A mixer would probably add the biggest overall quality boost to your sound in the end.....Just a suggestion from my experiences but if you are leaning another way by all means dont listen to me...Any new piece of gear should help out your sound in one way or another Im sure...

I would tell you to go buy an MBox and learn everything about it and you will be a very very very happy individual. All you need after that is whateva tha hell you want to make noise with.

id def invest in monitors good monitors

you can never go wrong with more sampling material. a mixer or moniters would be logical purchases also

I def want some monitors but dont wanna spend that much,
I've seen event tr5s for £329 and event tr6s for £299, I was goona go with the behringer truths at only £259 but I've heard the events are better, anyone have an opinion. the only thing I can think of is that the truths woofers are 8.5 inch 3.5 inches bigger than the tr5s. hmmmm.
also anyone tried the mackie tapco, I've seen em for £280.

jonloc, you have the mbox I take it and you like it then, Ive seen the digi 001 for £400ish on ebay I don't know whether to take the plunge. only 3 hours left!

I was winning the digi 001 at £450, but someone pipped me in the last 20 seconds!!! bastards,
ahwell, one might come up again or there is the mbox ...... but what about the 828, d'oh

If you dont need midi, the mbox is dope. If you do, go with the 001 or 002r.
