How can I change the sounds on the keyboard on a different track on the MPC, without changing the sound I previously recorded. Everytime I change the track on the MPC and choose a different sound, it won't let me record multiple tracks from the keyboard on the mpc, unless it's the same sound. The keyboard and MPC 4000 are hooked up via MIDI. Can someone help me with this problem I'm having!! Does it have something to do with channels on the MPC main menu when an Instrument track is selected? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

hhhhmmmmm... lemme think...

yes, yes it does have something to do w/the midi channel selected on a track...

if you want to use a different sound, then you're going to have to use another midi channel. like channel 1 for the drums, channel 2 for bass, channel 3 for keys.

what you're doing is ok, but it doesn't work for what you want it to do.

what you're doing right now works best w/drum kits. it allows more control of when the kick plays, the hi-hats, and/or snare plays by having them on separate tracks that you can mute/un mute. great for jamming.
