software to make a MPC1000-'program' table

Is there a program to drag and drop your samples into a MPC1000 program ? It would be much easier if I could direct my wave to a 64-store-table on pc and upload by usb... (roland sp808ex has got something like that via ZIP)

Microsoft worked on akai with this. It's called "Windows Explorer". Once you attach the MPC to the PC with a USB cable, it shows up as a drive that you can just drag & drop files to. Smae is true for Mac & Linux.

im talkign about mpc editor but i dont want to pay 30 bucks is there a free one ?

You spend $800 on an MPC, hundreds on a PC and don't want to pay $30 for a great piece of software to put them all together - where's the sense in that?

is mpc editor also for the mpc1000? you can't export it to a 1000 program...

I don't use any program editor for the MPC, cuz I find that they don't give you anything. But I thing the editor for the 1000 is free, no?

o yea i had this program just to mess wit it... it works good wit the 1k?.. like i can just make a pgm that says mpc 2000 and bring it into my 1000 via usb without a problem?

yeah, i haven't had any problems. download the demo (just go to the download section) and check it out. it organizes, you can here's the samples on the virtual-pads, renames (if you like) and it's drag and drop style is great.

I dunno, I stopped looking for a program after a few days, I found it was quicker to dump the samples to the card and create programs on the MPC itself. As long as you give your WAVs sensible names, avoid confusion, and don't load up too many samples at once (which makes finding the right one slow). I also keep "templates" for melodic sample work, with the MIDI mapping in order (35-98), and I'm starting to play with octave layouts (C-C on one page, X 4)
