need help with mpc 1000 on windows vista

Hi! this is my first post
I just got a black mpc 1000 couple days ago
I will be loading it with a new hard drive and ram thanks to the tips on this board...

anyways I need help running the mpc with vista

any help with the mass storage usb driver?
I've had nothing but problems loading really basic usb stuff onto my new asus a8h vista laptop
makes me want to revert back to XP
but vista came with a clean registered copy on purchase of laptop...
anyways
I hope i can make it work with my mpc 1000 (jj os 4.73)

i searched the message board but couldn't find anything.
any leads on the driver for vista?

what does the os say when you plug the mpc into the laptop....do you get similar issues when you plug other usb gadgets into it?

ok i solved the issue

by going into control panel/ hardware and sound/ device manager and assigning the driver by right clicking mpc1000? in the list and going into "update driver..." and "browse" and "pick from a list" and choosing the usb mass storage device

though it automatically assigned itself in xp this little process ensures you can use the mpc on vista
i also got a smart card reader to work that was buging me for the smart card for my esx-1
