Forum to discuss all matters relating to the MPC1000 and MPC2500 operating systems created by 'JJ' (all versions).

I think JJ made a big mistake. Destroying the perfectly good input filter and replacing it with something irrelevant to MPCs (not real time pitch shift) sadly means the OS is worthless to me and undoes all the good work they did. With a heavy heart I have to stay with Akai.

Its only a few bucks but at least to make the point clear I will ask for refund.

So maybe i am unclear. The last time i checked the external filter input is rendered useless because it cannot be controlled in real time by the q link faders - these have been assigned to the (stupid) pitch shifter instead...

Akai designed this feature really nicely and JJ messed it up for no reason

I dont have the machine in front of me, but if this changed in a recent update then I am happy. if it hasn't then the JJ OS is useless to me

and yes I'm pissed about it

from JJ today cryptic but hopeful

"It requested to make the version which removed the real-time pitch shift and returned the filter.
However, from a programmer, a reply does not come yet.
I think that it is one busy with development of an extra version probably."

Do you use any of the other new features? Also, how long have you had the JJOS? . I purchased the JJOS on the same day that he released it and I never knew that $30 could go this far. I would have easily paid extra for all of the new features we have received since then. Normally, JJ responds to and makes reasonable changes based on requests. I'm just curious if this is the only reason you are asking for a refund since there is no way that your machine can be prevented from installing any of the new updates now.

by the time you receive a refund it will have already been reinstated plus 6 new features added so i wouldnt pee my pants over this just yet

i could not agree more really.

just get a nice filter box (an electrix second hand is not that expensive, or there are a lot others), which is analog and will sound much better than the one of the 1k and will have a lot more great performance tricks.

then you can use the JJ os, and also your performance and fun will be improved.

up to you really ;)
