SYNC TO CUBASE TRACKS PROBLEM ...PLEASE HELP'???

FIRST I CONNECT MY (M-AUDIO 1X1 MIDI USB) CABLE GOING INTO (1) OF MIDI IN AND THE OTHER OUT GOING INTO ( A ) OF THE MIDI OUT BEHIND THE MPC.

I THEN HIT MODE NUMBER 9 PAD (MIDI/SYNC) TO SET THE SYNC IN TO (1) SLAVE AND SYNC OUT TO (1A) MASTER / MIDI CLOCK

AFTER THAT, I THEN CLICK ON TRANSPORT-SYNC SETUP IN MY CUBASE TO SET MY M-AUDIO 1X1 MIDI USB AS MIDI CLOCK



AFTER HAVING MY 4 EMPTY MONO AUDIO TRACKS IN CUBASE, I THEN CLICK ON THE TEMPO SPOT IN CUBASE AS FIXED AND SET THE EXACT TEMPO THE WAY IT IS ON THE MPC.


******MY PROBLEM NOW IS*******

WHEN I PRESS RECORD IN CUBASE, IT STARTS TO SYNC AND RECORD BUT THERE IS NO INPUT SOUND GOING INTO THE CUBASE TRACKS.


EXT APPEARS ON THE SCREEN OF THE MPC WHEN I PRESS ON RECORD. BUT NO INPUT SOUND IN THE CUBASE TRACKS...


IM THINKING IF THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE M-AUDIO MIDISPORT 1X1??
IF THAT IS THE CASE , WHAT DO I HAVE TO BUY TO MAKE THIS SYNC TO TRACK WORK

first of all, outputs dont go into outputs. outputs only go to INPUTS and INPUTS only goto outputs.

second, you dont need to use both midi in and midi out on the MPC.

If you want Cubase to control the MPC (Cubase as master, mpc as slave), then you would connect: INTERFACE Midi OUT -> MPC Midi IN

Thats it. Or if you want the mpc to control Cubase you do the opposite: MPC Midi OUT -> INTERFACE Midi IN

Think peeps are missing the question here.
Dude is basically asking why no audio is coming from his midi cable(!!)

Midi cables only feed midi data, NOT AUDIO.

You need to connect the 1/4 inch AUDIO outputs on the back of your MPC to the AUDIO inputs of your soundcard, not the midi interface(the midi interface needs to be connected only for synch)

Where is your AUDIO OUTPUT from the MPC routed at?

To the audio input of my mixer

depending on which MPC/OS you've got, you may have trouble using your
MP as master - cubase doesn't take too kindly to this...

im using 2500/ 0S Version version 3.6.0


This is what im using...

1. Yamaha 01V 96 V2 (mixer)
2. Acer Aspire 5633WLMI (laptop)
3. AVALON 737 SP (preamp)
4. Fucosrite SAFFIRE (Audio Interface)
5. cubase SX3
6. 2 Roland (Monitors)


Is there anything i can do with this setup to make it work ?

The focusrite sapphire IS your soundcard. Plug the Audio OUTS from the MPC into the Audio INS of the sapphire.

No worries, you'll also have to set up your input channels on cubse.
