If they had a light blue lcd one like this one,Id get it instead.ImageThe red planet one looks messed up and as red said it looks like it would be harder to read.

They were making these alternate coloured backlights and selling them to other vendors, offering send in/fixup/return services and also ... selling direct for the DIY community.

Maybe try contacting them and seeing if the RED ones are still available.

my screen is light blue like that. was that way when i got it used, nice on the eyes.

Yeah his red screen is nice but the blue is much better on the eyes. Specially better than this old burnt brown.

i'm pretty sure you only need to search for a 7" CCFL light of your color preference and swap it out. if you have ever taken your girl apart and examined the LCD unit, you can see what goes where and pull it off with relative ease, i would imagine.

Just get a piece or red celophane (?- i guess that's how you spell it) and place it in between the actual screen and the cover for the screen.
